Adopt Me Trading Tips - How to Get Better Deals (2026)

Radek

Trading is the heart of Adopt Me and also where most players make the biggest mistakes. Getting a bad trade early on can set you back a lot. Here are the tips that actually make a difference.

Get Your Trade License First

Before you do anything else, go to the Safety Hub on the map and get your Trade License. Without it you can only trade Common and Uncommon pets which severely limits what you can do. The quiz to get it is straightforward and takes about two minutes. Do this as early as possible.

Always Check Values Before Trading

This is the single most important habit you can build. Never go into a trade relying on what you think something is worth from memory. Values shift constantly in Adopt Me and a pet you valued last week might have gone up or down since then.

Before any significant trade, check a community value tracker. Sites like Traderie and AdoptMeTradingValues track real trades and give you an accurate picture of current market value. Two minutes of checking can save you from losing a lot of trade value.

Understand What W, F, and L Mean

You will see these terms everywhere in trade chats:

  • W (Win) — the trade is in your favour
  • F (Fair) — roughly equal value on both sides
  • L (Loss) — you are giving more than you are getting

Never accept a trade you think is an L just because someone pressures you. There will always be another offer.

The Staircase Method

The fastest way to build a good collection from nothing is to trade up gradually rather than trying to jump straight to the top.

Start by collecting several B tier pets and bundle them together to trade for an A tier pet. Then use A tier pets to work toward lower S tier pets like the Frost Dragon. Then use those to push higher. Each step takes patience but this is genuinely how most experienced traders built their collections.

Trying to go from a common pet to a legendary in one or two trades almost never works and usually ends badly.

Neon and Mega Neon Pets Are Worth Making

If you have four of the same pet sitting in your inventory, age them up and make a Neon. Neon pets are worth significantly more than the four separate pets would be individually. It takes time but the value jump is real.

The same applies to Mega Neons if you have the patience for it. Four Neon pets combined into a Mega Neon can multiply the value considerably depending on the species.

Hold Event Pets After the Event Ends

When a limited event runs, the pets inside are at their most common during the event itself because everyone is hatching them. The moment the event ends, supply freezes and demand tends to stay consistent or grow over time as the pet becomes nostalgic and harder to find.

If you get a good pet from a limited event, sit on it for a while rather than trading it immediately. Patience usually pays off with event pets.

Do Not Hatch Every Egg You Get

Unhatched limited eggs from retired seasons can actually be worth more in trades than what you would likely hatch from them. An unhatched Mythic Egg or Woodland Egg has inherent collector value because most people hatched theirs. Keep them if you get them.

Scams to Always Avoid

Trust trading — someone asks you to give them a pet first with a promise to give you something in return. They never do. This is the most common scam in the game and it never stops being used because it keeps working on new players.

Last second swaps — a scammer will add a look-alike pet at the last moment hoping you will confirm without noticing the switch. Always read the trade window carefully before confirming.

Fake middlemen — someone offers to hold pets during a trade as a neutral party and then disappears. Only use middlemen vouched for by trusted community sources if you genuinely need one.

Too good to be true offers — if someone is offering you a legendary for your common pet out of nowhere, it is always a scam. Nobody gives away valuable pets for free.

Be Patient

This is the tip that makes the biggest difference and also the one most people ignore. Good trades do not happen every session. Sometimes you need to decline five bad offers before a fair one comes along. That is normal. Getting impatient and accepting a bad trade to feel like you are making progress is how you end up going backwards.

The players with the best collections in Adopt Me got them by being patient, trading smart, and not rushing.
