Is Roblox Plus Worth It? (Honest Review 2026)

Radek

Roblox Plus launched on April 30, 2026, replacing the old Roblox Premium subscription. At $4.99/month it's cheaper than Premium was, but the benefits are completely different. So is it actually worth subscribing? Here's an honest breakdown.

What You Actually Get

Quick recap of the full benefits:

  • 10% discount on all in-game and avatar purchases from day one
  • 20% discount from month 3 onward
  • Free unlimited paid private servers across all games
  • Free Robux transfers to other players (no fee)
  • Marketplace access — trade Limiteds, publish and sell avatar items
  • A Plus badge on your profile

Bundles with monthly Robux (Plus 500, Plus 1000, Plus 2000) are coming shortly after launch for people who want a Robux stipend on top.

Who Should Definitely Get It

If you buy a lot of game passes or avatar items, this pays for itself fast. Even at 10% off, if you're spending 1000 Robux a month on stuff, you're saving 100 Robux — which is basically a chunk of the subscription cost right there. Hit month 3 and the 20% discount means you're genuinely saving a lot.

If you and your friends play on paid private servers, this is a no-brainer. Private servers can cost anywhere from 100 to 200+ Robux per month. Plus gives you unlimited ones for free — that alone covers the subscription cost immediately.

If you want to trade or sell avatar items, you need Plus (or Premium) for marketplace access. There's no way around it. If this is your goal, Plus is required, not optional.

Who Probably Doesn't Need It

If you barely spend Robux, the discount doesn't add up to much. You'd need to be buying stuff regularly for the savings to justify $4.99/month.

If you were on Premium mainly for the Robux stipend, hold off for now. The base Plus subscription doesn't include monthly Robux — that's coming as a paid add-on bundle (Plus 500/1000/2000) shortly after launch. Wait for those before switching.

If you mostly play free games and don't buy passes, there's not much here for you. The free private servers are great but only matter if you actually use them.

The Discount Math

Here's a simple breakdown of how fast the discount pays back the subscription cost:

| Monthly Robux Spent | Month 1-2 Savings (10%) | Month 3+ Savings (20%) | |---|---|---| | 500 Robux | 50 Robux | 100 Robux | | 1000 Robux | 100 Robux | 200 Robux | | 2000 Robux | 200 Robux | 400 Robux | | 5000 Robux | 500 Robux | 1000 Robux |

Keep in mind $4.99 is roughly 400–500 Robux depending on exchange rate. So if you're spending 2000+ Robux a month, Plus pays for itself by month 3.

What About Premium Subscribers?

If you're currently on Premium, you get a free 1-month Roblox Plus trial — Roblox will email you a link on launch day. Use it. It lets you test Plus without committing.

After that, your Premium stays active as-is. You keep your monthly Robux and marketplace access. The only things changing on May 30 are the 10% Robux purchase bonus ending and the Premium badge being removed.

Verdict

Worth it if: you spend Robux regularly, use paid private servers, or want marketplace access.

Skip it if: you're a casual player who rarely buys anything, or you want monthly Robux (wait for the bundles).

The free private servers and growing discount are genuinely good value for active players. For casual players, $4.99/month is hard to justify when most of Roblox is free anyway.
